Helping Hands Assistance Requirements

At some point in our lives, we or someone we know – our friends, family members or loved ones – may face a hardship or illness that requires the need of community assistance. Bay Area Inclusion facilitates the Helping Hands program to eligible community members in their time of need.

Our objective is to connect those in need with resources available. Whether it be personal, such as childcare or carpooling; professional, such as counseling or healthcare; or general home maintenance or repair; BAI is capable of linking resources, volunteers and those in our community who are in need together so we all grow stronger. It is our hope that this effort will build a strong community, a “family” we can all lean on in times of need.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must meet certain general eligibility requirements to become a candidate for assistance. These general requirements include:

-         The applicant must live in our community (Gulf Coast area).

-         The applicant must be LGBT or a supporter of our community.

-         The applicant must have a need that cannot be met by themselves.

-         A member of the Helping Hands committee must verify the applicant’s need.

-         The applicant must be willing to volunteer at the community center or volunteer to help another Helping Hands candidate.

How to apply
