Mission Statement

We are committed to eradicating homophobia in the Gulf South and the culture of silence that allows it. We will work to eliminate the conditions which allow prejudice and bias against sexual orientation and gender expression to exist, because injustice and violence against any person is intolerable. We will cultivate community health and wellbeing through service projects aimed at growth, education, and dialogue; by creating spaces and opportunities for true diversity to take root; by providing resources about sexual and gender diversity; and by extending support to all people who suffer because of the fear of difference.

BAI's goal is to Strengthen and Affirm our CommUNITY by:

   - Initiating, implementing and advocating programs

           and services that meet the needs of our

           communities.               

    - Educating the public and our communities to

          encourage chages in the systems affecting our

          lives.               

    - Empowering our individuals and groups to achieve

          their fullest potential.               

    - Cultivating a culture of diversity and inclusion

          in all that we do.
